Abstract Natural circulation loops are systems used to transport heat by the free convection of a working fluid in closed thermo-hydraulic circuit. Many examples Lattice Boltzmann method applied can be found literature, but most them limited model simple enclosures. This work is one first approaches an engineering system as Circulation Loops using this numerical method. study describes implementation and validation rectangular loop characterized small inner diameter. research focused on thermohydraulic response NCL varying fluid. We have obtained satisfactory results demonstrating that accepted analytical correlations for steady-state behavior reproduced thermal Method (double distribution function). Overall, these suggest temperature velocity oscillations during transient increase directly with Prandtl number; instead, difference between vertical legs inversely correlated decreases.
